Nina Simone – Four Women Lyrics 12 years ago
Each woman represents a black female stereotype that has been well docuemented and written about by various authors.

The Mammy
The Tragic Mullato
The Jezebel
The Sapphire

I think the names might have changed with the times, but evidence of these personality types are so pervasive in black culture that it makes it difficult for black women to be seen as anything other than symbols, not multifaceted human beings

Sumo Cyco – Danger Lyrics 14 years ago
This is probably my favorite Sumo Cyco song yet, I think it goes beyond the standard slasher film theme they seem to like to pursue. For the song I think it poses the questions about the idea of rebellion and asking if you really want the chaos and danger that is associated with it.

Skye Sweetnam – Babydoll Gone Wrong Lyrics 15 years ago
I just love the clash of masculine and feminine symbols in this song, and how she uses them as imagery for a subversive violent rebellion.

The song comes of as obvious and self explanatory to what it could mean, but for me it explains how something once symbolized full of sugar, sweetness and harmless like a baby doll has gone through this nuclear transformation into something more of what Skye Sweetnam sees herself. Something just as sweet but has a twinge of darkness to it.

I truly love this song and its one of my favorites

Angelspit – Paint Hell Red Lyrics 16 years ago
Actually this song is a statement about how the story of little red riding hood was meant to be a lesson telling people not to go into the forest due to the "dangerous wolf". Little Red was and is a tale of how she deserved to get eaten, because she wandered off the path. Angelspit argues with this and say what if Little Red was a cannibal and got revenge. They state it in one of their blipverts #14 I believe.

Angelspit – Kill Kitty Lyrics 16 years ago
after listening to this song 100 times I would think at first its talking about BSDM, but now I think it could be talking about presidents. With the references to the "illuminati" (in the past many presidents were apart of the free masons)and seeing "your face on the dollar bill", they criticize how many presidents lie to get into office, then abandon the ideals that got them there, to become puppets, figure heads, or maybe killing kitties that only take command from who ever is really in charge. In the end when they mention "In God we trust, shit ain't fair" The popular mantra of the States is that although were supposed to trust our government, but its definitely is not fair, and to some is seen as a big "fraud", so in the end many "dont't care" about politics at all.
