I like the "from me" part especially. I was really good friends with a girl who i thought i was in love with and it didn't work out when we tried being together. However, me being with her sparked this other guy who was in love with her to tell her his feelings and now she's having a good life, and, albeit not in the way i would have hoped, i am part of the reason why she has it. We're still friends which is good and sometimes I wish she would have the good life with me, but from me is good too, because while we didn't work out as a couple, I still care about her and I'm happy for her. |

honestly reminds me of what i'm going through now. i was with a girl that i fell pretty hard for and i did everything i could to treat her the best i could, and she never returned any of that. of course i never noticed because of what i felt for her, she could do no wrong. then she broke up with me all of a sudden, made up some bullshit reason, and i think she pretty much just lost interest. now she's dating some new guy who is a complete dickhead and i sit here wondering, what did i do to deserve this. seriously this song reminds me of that like "why'd u have to go and let it die" what did i do to deserve this and "do you ever think of me, you're so considerate" now that she's with someone else, she acts like i don't exist. ugh, it hurts knowing the only one if ever close to loved is a bitch who has forgotten me, but that's really what this song is about. |

This song uses a bar as a metaphor for the end of something that you don't want to end. This can be anything, high school, college, a stage in your live, even a relationship to some extent. But it says that without something ending, nothing can start and its time to move on to bigger and better things. Drunks like being in a bar and they don't want closing time to come, but it will eventually and they have to use that as an opportunity to move onto bigger and better things. |

This quote basically sums up the song

Basically a guy was in a relationship with a girl and the relationship was superficial. He thought she was very pretty and almost only stayed with her because of who she was in the outside, even though she treated him like crap. Then she breaks up with him and at first he feels lost, and he says "you got me crying" but then he realizes that he is free and he can do whatever he wants. He's free to go find someone better. He's free to, as he says "do some things you wouldn't let me do." He's free to find someone who loves him and treats him right, someone who is beautiful on both the inside and outside.
This song is almost exactly how I feel after breaking up with my girlfriend. When we were together, she was perfect in my eyes. She could do no wrong. Now that she broke up with me, I can see that she was really kind of a bitch and I deserve better and I'm going to find better.
