I always thought this song was about a man who the lead singer thought was meaningless and exploits the "failings" of this guy to try and prove how pathetic the guy's life is. he then proceeds to ask him what he thinks his life is worth by saying "Now sinister Exaggerator, What's your claim to fame?" A very mean-spirited song, if you ask me. |

Yeah, perhaps one of those little snobby kids. I think he's talking about leaving when his parents don't "buy or sell", (I suppose he ends up leaving), and perhaps in the end, the parents are rejoicing him being gone when they say "happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me." |

Ummm, I don't think any one's going to agree with this, but I get the feeling this song has something to do with sex... think about it, "pistol pete removes the final breaths from her unkind and she is shaken
what does this mean in love or in peace? with you lying next to me... Dusty Screams... As he holds her down, in the cold, loneley wind... her inside him..." I don't really know, but when I first heard this song, I got a strong feeling of that. I might just be a perv, though, I'm not sure. |

I think you're right, tieladnam, if it's a metaphor, it's probably about people who have the misfortune of having everything they loved taken away until they feel like their life's meaningless. I know how that feels. Demons Dance Alone is one of my favorite albums to listen to when I'm down, definitely one of the resident's most Mellon-collie works. |

This is one of those songs in the Commercial album that was kind of scatter-brained. Obviously, the girl is addicted to terror, and wants to experience it until her death. However, I have no Idea what he's talking about when he mentions her Negligee... Well, I guess at the end he's saying that he found her intrest so... interesting that he thinks about her often. |

This song's meaning is obvious to me. It's about a jerk who Beck and everyone else hates, and wants to cause trouble. I doubt this person suffers from paranoia (I doubt Beck would be that insensitive), instead, I think Beck is trying to frighten this "Mutherfucker", so that he will go away and leave everyone alone. Okay, I think this song is about a guy who gets his heart trampled by a woman who hates him.
In the beginning of the song, He confidently declares he loves this girl, and describes his feelings for her in detail. The Woman then opens up a huge can of worms about how much she hates him, and how ugly she thinks he is. After wards, the guy says the same thing he said before, clinging to what he feels is his only chance at love. while he's singing the last part, his voice is in turmoil, and crackles, as if to suggest he's crying. I really love this song, The Residents rock, w00t! |

This song is definitely about Addiction, ie Took the hook and swallowed it, Terrified, I tried to quit, etc, and he goes on to say that the addiction ruined his life. the demons he's reffering to are his inner demons, in my opinion. |
