on the surface, to me, this song is pretty much talking about how he had something that he thought was special with one girl, and he thought that they had each others' backs, and when things didn't work out, whether it was a breakup or her killing herself like some of the other comments say, he finds himself lost and alone because all the things that were stapling him together fell apart. |

hm. i know this isn't really what the song means, but to me it reminds me of my exact feelings as i was walking to school with a friend that i knew i wasn't going to see soon after, if ever. how i payed attention to every detail and was just putting off the moment we had to part. "So if I just exist for the next ten minutes of this drive That would be fine" it was such a prolonged walk and in the end we both knew that there were like 5 minutes of being together left, but it felt like those were the longest and most important moments of my life. "Soon all the joy that pours from everything Makes fountains of your eyes Because you finally understand the movement of a hand Waving you goodbye " after he had gone, it still hadn't hit me that he actually left until i saw him turn around and wave again before disappearing from sight. it was kind of like closure. this comment is probably pretty lame and not worded well, but i wanted to share. haha |
