I think this song is just the stuggle of being a musician, and always being on the road, and wanting to get away from it for a while just to see what it is like i think craig is saying how sometimes even though he loves what he does it gets frustrating and maybe life would be everything he wanted if he could just get away from all the things he has to deal with in terms of being a musician |

my favorite lines are "I'm really not who you think i am, i keep the ones who make me sane so stop telling me im not who you thought i would be" just because the way he says it is so angry and he i feel as though he is confident in the decisions to severe all the ties he has with a loved one when gthe song says "this passion drowns our need for love" i feel like its a relationship where they try to make eachother's life hell, which totally distracts them from thinking of the love they once had for eachother "And this is all still so new to me, our eyes have lost their colour, And now I'm trying, I'm trying to keep my balance, But there is nothing, there's nothing to keep my steady, And I'll hold myself up.".. at this point in the song is where he starts to realize the error of his ways and the cost, he now has to be independent and instead of having a crutch with the person hes writing about he cant because they are no longer on friendly terms, and i think the eyes losing colors is the understanding they both had for eachother is lost overall amazing song with such emotion with such few words |

I feel like this song is about being betrayed and not knowing how to deal with it. when craig says "from my eyes flow compassion for you" it means he still cares and loves the person but he cant because of what they did, and this causes a strong confusion because how can you care about someone who hurts you in such a bad way? "That this place is an enemy, full of harsh words and hearsay And if this city were to go down in flames would you think to blow it out" I think this part means that if the person that hurt him witnessed their relationship falling apart would they ever think to fix it before it is completely gone For the most part i just think the song is about not be willing to let go of someone you truely care about even when you know their not treating you the way you deserve |
