I always felt that this was Jim saying to up and coming bands basically you are going to struggle a hell of a lot to get anywhere in the music industry and, yeah it'll feel good and live in the momment enjoy it. But for every rise there's a big crash at the end somewhere... but once it's gone it's not over you may never get to that massive success that you had before but there's still some living once you've had you 15 mins of fame.

It's completely a song about doing your own thing, not caring what people around you say about you and just doing things the way you want to. People try so hard to be something they're not because they think it's cool in the end you're going to be happier if you just do what you want to do rather than what everyone around you thinks you should do. |

When they played in Belfast in March gary said he wrote Run at one of the darkest times in his life and it's a song about hope, friendship, family and basically home. It's basically about having people around you that can pull you through the dark times in your life and let you see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Makes sense when you think about the fact that he was writing it before they hit the big time and he was selling his CD collection so that he could eat. |

On the A Hundred Million Suns dvd/cd release Gary says that Take Back the City is a love song, but not for another person for your home. He wrote specifically about his home city of Belfast which as he grew up he didn't fully understand and now has nothing but love and admiration for the place. |
