i like this song even more now because i heard that this song is written about john's mom, in his dads perspective. which is adorable. the song is about a guy wanting to get back with a girl, and in the song you never find out if they end up together. but they obviously ended up together in the end because they got married and had john :) i fucking love it. |

i think this song can relate to fame. "Like I came in from above, above, above... Feelin like a bird sittin high" like how when you're famous, people put you on a pedestal. they think you're perfect, like you're a God from heaven. So i think he is writing about how people have a misconception of him; he's really just like everyone else. |

Your competitive because you think you might lose that thing you love so much to someone else. You have problems with your love for this thing or person because they seem so perfect, that they might just be too perfect for you. But if you weren't so foolish and young, and actually told the person your feelings, then they might understand you. But you can't do that because you are too scared and insecure, so you kind of just want to forget it ever happened at all. |
