(+44) – Weatherman Lyrics 16 years ago
Has anybody caught the Hamlet reference in here? Tom and Mark are both fans of classic literature (Macbeth, Atticus). Anyways the line is "I find it pulling at me, a sea of troubles drowning." And in Hamlet's famous To Be or Not To Be monologue we see Hamlet contemplating suicide when he says, "To take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them. To die. To sleep. No more." This makes me believe that this song is about suicide because the character in the story is drowning in a sea of troubles but if he opposes them (taking his life and going against the flow) the troubles will stop.

10 Years – All Your Lies Lyrics 16 years ago
This song really strikes me as talking about who are too self absorbed so they think they are good enough to walk alongside sin but never fall into it. I like to call this the Chaddiferian Sock-Vaccum theory. We think we are good enough to move the vaccum (ourselves) right next to the sock (sin) without having it getted suced into the vaccum and next thing !!!PHOOMP!!! We get sucked into sin because we overestimated yourself. This is greatly illustrated by the line "Walk the line and pay the price."

Upon being sucked into the sin we deny that anything is wrong because we're too good to sin, right? Wrong, our actions contradict our words and we begin to lose our former selvs to the sin and it eats at us until we are alone and die alone without a care about how big we screwed things up. "The parasite's host never even knows." We become so lost in the sin that we don't realize anything is wrong and we must "wear the wounds of our demise." The eternal happiness was traded in for no more than a temporary ecstsasy, a false happiness, or a simple pleasure.

Streetlight Manifesto – Forty Days Lyrics 16 years ago
This song says to me, more than anything, that sins won't satisfy us, people will sin but they'll never truly be satisfied with a sin because, in the end, there is nothing like the real thing-- leading a life that we are proud of. The line "We made our beds, we'll judge ourselves," says that we will be judged according to the dictates of our own conscience so even if we don't feel that somebody else is a good person that if they are doing what they believe to be right we have no right to judge them; it isn't our decision what they do in life and even if we may find it wrong we still have to support them and not judge them or we in turn have brought sin upon ourselves which brings us back to the conclusion that we inherit sin. Because other people do things that are wrong in our eyes, we judge them and in turn do what we know to be wrong. Even if we don't have our own religion we should at least take the time to learn about what others have to say and not be narrow minded like is often the cas.

When Tomas says "I've tasted seven sins, so they won't let me in. I knock, knock, knock till my knuckles are bruised and raw stuck in the middle of our blood in a puddle on the floor," That screams to me that you can sin in search of something better but in the end we'll always end up wanting more because when we do wrong it only wanting more because we will always end up unsatisfied, or in the middle of our blood in a puddle on the floor." ALthough the sins will make us happy for a moment or two, we will yearn for more because we know we did something wrong but it satisfied us for the time being even though we know we can inherit something greater by working towards it, when we should get up and tell our friends what we have heard that what we did was wrong and won't lead us to happiness in the end because wickedness never was happiness.

Blink-182 – I Miss You Lyrics 16 years ago
I think that the reason this was written is because at the time Delonge had his first born but he couldn't be with his family for touring reasons and this is an apology for not being there as a father to his daughter.

AFI – Untitled Lyrics 16 years ago
nexsus24 Davey didn't write the first and third verses of this song, Jade did. Anyways here is my interpetation:
A man is looking back on his past. He spent his lover's last days with them and he realizes that his only salvation from his living nightmare is to die and have his passions live on. Towards the end the salvation is being reunited with his lover after death.
