No album produced in such little time as SA was should have 28 songs on it. The album's very hit and miss. Saying that, Turn it again is one of my favourites from it, mainly because of the two minute-long guitar solo at the end! John's still got it! |

Quite simply, this song is about pulling in a club, and the ultimate goal of this being sex. Everything supports this. You can't pull a member of the opposite sex by being second best, you have to be the very best. "Lord give me grace and dancing feet And the power to impress Lord give me grace and dancing feet Let me outshine the moon" I'm attracted to girls who can dance well- I don't give a second look at the girl who's slow dancing out of time in the middle of a rave. He therefore prays to God to "impress" the girls (boys in kele's case) with his "dancing feet". He needs to be noticed, and what is more noticeable than an extra bright dancing moon? "Is it so wrong to crave recognition? Second best, runner-up Is it so wrong to want rewarding? To want more than is given to you? Than is given to you" As previously mentioned, he needs to be the best to get the person's attention. In reference to "more that is given to you" I think that it's either that you just get checked out or get a kiss without anything else coming your way. As for the chorus, he wants to be unstoppable (in sexual terms, I think that this is pretty self-explanatory, if you catch my drift), and wants to use his "wit" and "charm" to attract the attention. I won't go into any more detail apart from the "claiming what's mine". If you follow my theory, then he has already got a person who he wants in mind, and wants to "claim" them. I know that songs are all about personal interpretation, so don't go by what I say. I am right though :P |

| I was quite disappointed with the 3rd album, but Silent Alarm and AWITC are soooo good!! Both of their lyrical and musical styles are very similar, so I don't see how you can't like both of them just as much :P | |

I think that the James Dean is particularly significant as it is obviously masking the true name if you abbreviate it- James dean= JD= Dr John Dorian from scrubs. Being a doctor, he is going to try and "save the world". .... If you have any intellectual capacity whatsoever you will have noticed that I was just demonstrating how anything can be interpreted in a personal way, and that you shouldn't let someone on here change how you think of of a song. Songs become personal, and I think that's the best part of music- that you can make something your own. |

I like your way of thinking, but I think you may be reading a little too much into it. For example, your "3 out of 5" theory has two flaws: 1. These numbers could be related to absolutely anything if you twist and interpret it enough. and 2. It depends on what you count as a major conflict. I mean, does there have to be a certain number of people dead for a conflict to be classed as "Major?" |

Personally, I love the line "Kill your middle class indecision, now is not the time for liberal thought" This is as if Bloc Party are looking at it from the eyes of the right-wing- cancelling out the central parties which are supported predominantly by middle class people, and the liberals which imply the left-wing side of politics. It is the right-wing that is counter all immigration and religious freedom. The right-wing parties also act on impulse and in violent manners, hence the mentioning of the shot-gun and "killing" the middle-class indecision. In my personal opinion, this song is as much about being careful of Fascist-like politics and views as a song about terrorism and getting the right person. |

It's "I watched TV, it informed me" And how can you say that Bloc Party's lyrics are weak? Most songs on this album have deep social, religious or political meanings. None of this Boy & Girl rubbish which is what predominantly floods the music industry of today. |
