| I really like this idea. Especially as i think there's even more that supports it such as "family and christian" line when communisam was always seen as the enemy of the church during the 20th centuary and " struggle to recall your names" when communism tends to look at people as a colective therefore it may be saying the people in the song sink into a collective socitey to the point they struggle to remember their names. | |

Well i know he(Dev Hynes) once said that he was trying to write a song about someone else because he felt all his songs where about himself but then after recording it he realised it was interly about him. I always thought it was about a alcoholic and the feeling he has when he wakes up every morning. The line that threw me off for a while was.. "He'll lick and kiss their necks Until they come down his throat" But i think when he says "necks" he is talking about the neck of a beer bottle. And then after that he talks about waking up (cos i think the line is "day light breaks" instead of "day by day") feeling lonely even though all these people are concerned about him. |
