I think this song is about someone who on the outside is loving and stable but sometimes can get drawn away from her relationship by temptation. She loves as she knows she can but temptation can be too much which is why she can break his heart and in turn she feels as though she has broken her own "and my broken heart to belong to your body". I have been in a very similar position in being the partner who does all the sweet things. THen years go by and it gets boring and some "siren" distracts you from whats important so much that you break your own heart realising the destruction you have caused and feel "evil" |
