As said before, this is simply a brilliant piss take of Akon in his video for i'm so paid... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ59pqxCcsM ...and it applies equally to numerous other dumb bling bling gangsta rap/RnB artists that would rather show off how much worthless bling they can afford rather than make decent music. The ironic thing being that this Lonely Island track is actually better than the music of all of those artists put together!! - it really is a very well written, well arranged piece of "pop" music. - and don't get me wrong, I know to many people "pop music" has a bad name - but it's dumb people buying into the crap from the likes of Akon that give it one. Genuinely GOOD pop music does exist, but it takes talent to create, not gangsta status & bling. THEY'RE ON A BOAT MOTHERFUCKER, DON'T YOU EVER FORGET!!! ..and they're taking the living piss whilst displaying far more talent than all those dumb materialistic gangsta idiots put together. BRILLIANT! |

..also, the "everyones mouth is dry" is also likely referring to a side effect of heroin - it causes a dry mouth. (BTW - to anyone thinking I must be a Heroin addict myself can rest assured I'm certainly not! ;-) - it's just unfortunate I've had several friends who were heroin addicts, and several that have died from the drug too. It really is bad news.) Regarding the youtube link to Shelly Lubbens dead porn stars video, well TBH they probably couldn't have picked a more fitting song; regardless of it's obvious links to drugs, the lyrics could easily apply to the porn industry and the desperate situations many of those poor girls get themselves into. |

Regarding the Blue Eyes part, here's another possibility to throw into the pot: Contrary to previous posts, heroin actually causes a persons pupils to narrow, thus the term "pinned" that is often used to describe a person under the influence - the pupils literally look like pin pricks, very small indeed as oppose to a drug like Ecstasy (MDMA) that does the opposite and dialates the pupils making them larger. Bearing this in mind the "everyones eyes are blue" lyric could be referring to the fact that you see more of the coloured part of a persons eyes when they are "pinned" on heroin. Of course as a double meaning "blue eyes" could certainly also be referring to general sadness, feeling depressed, down, tired etc. - but I'm pretty sure that heroin alone is not a drug known to alter ones physical appearance too much, whereas prolonged use of ecstasy/crystal meth/speed/crack/cocaine and amphetamine based drugs can, and certainly will, as many of them work your body overtime keeping you awake for extended periods - it's often this lack of sleep alongside bad diet and the fact some of them are snorted that does more physical damage to the body/facial features. |
