i'm pretty sure it's a song about a mom from the kid's point of view. "and you gave me fingers and hands and hair and you did it without even trying", symbolizing his birth it also makes sense if you think about "And you gave me everything I need to live And now I need to leave you behind." about leaving home to grow up, and "And you taught me how to love wrong And I learned it so long ago Now I can't change" i think it's about a mom that left their kid behind emotionally (and maybe actually) i agree that it is really haunting, i listen to it all the time |
