| The Beatles – I Me Mine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think the explanations given about this song are way too overcomplicated. the song is about selfishness, period. nothing else to it... | |

I love your take on this song... while reading your thoughts, i find myself agreeing completely in every single way. its a bittersweet song... one in which portrays a man dealing with heartbreak in a much better/more mature way than that of the female in the relationship. i love the phrase "free fallin" that he uses in this song. in the midst of the breakup/fall, he finds himself sincerely and genuinely heartbroken, yet finding himself toying with the idea of being free of the ties of the dysfunctional relationship. this song speaks to me in a lot of ways... i think many of us have been in this situation before... either as the female, or the male. if not, we've all witnessed a situation like this in the past.. whether it be through our friends, or our family, etc. such a real song. !-love-! |

"I guess what I'm trying to say is whose life is it anyway Because livin', living is the best revenge you can play" love the truth in this... by far the best lyrics in this song. |

| the song sounded really great in connection to that movie | |
| Thriving Ivory – Day of Rain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"And the sky's a mess I'll run out in the middle of the pouring rain" i think this implies the relation between him and the weather. he realizes his life is a complete mess, and because the "sky is a mess" as well, he longs to feel the connection. (even if "the rain" is just a metaphor.) |

"she screams for more more than just some blue-eyed metaphor" I love this. the blue eyed metaphor is that which represents every girls image of the "perfect man." I love that the girl in this song realizes it's not about the appearance, but the connection she longs to find with someone. |

| Paramore – When It Rains Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I love your take on this... the very first time I heard this song I thought of my mother. Her and I never had a good relationship, and she ended up leaving my father with no plausible explanation as to why. She is very depressed and is constantly looking for approval in others even if it means sacrificing her own happiness. It's very possible Paramore simply wrote this song in reference to a bad relationship that ended with no closure. However, I think it's a great song in that each person can relate to it in their own ways... |

| Angels and Airwaves – Do It For Me Now Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I also love that in this song, you can clearly see "the guy" battling with his emotions... He's protecting himself by saying "hold on to me," or "just give me a chance and i'll try to forgive," yet turning around to say "there's one thing that i will most willingly prove... that when you are gone i'll be fine without you." He wants her so badly... but won't allow his heart to be hurt if it doesn't work out. very admirable battle with emotions displayed in this song. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – The War Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| besides the obvious, I think this was an opportunity for Tom to write a song that represented conflict in the emotions of humanity. With conflict, comes a need to have a hope/endurance that will allow us to overcome the battles of everyday life. | |

regardless of the small stories that are written within the song (i.e. cheating) I think this is a great song in that it shows the complications of most.. typical relationships. "I give and I give and I give and I give and I'm still Lost and hurt and bone thin From the love thats been starved I know it got close but Im sure its too far From the point of suspense, that we know it should be" the lyrics are a "beautiful disaster" (for the lack of better terms.) its very common for two people in relationships to feel unequal to each other. the constant battle for affection, and to show affection will destruct the relationship. it's sad to see so many people "compromise" by saying "because he/she did this for me, i need to do this in return for him/her." ... once one person in the relationship feels starved of affection, outside relationships begin to form and "intrude" on the original... which is much of what this song is talking about. |

| DJ Sammy – Beautiful Smile Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm surprised there's no comments on this song. I love the simplicity of it -- the simple lyrics and quiet metaphors. ("My love is like a turning wheel.") I love that this implies a never-ending cycle.. every morning she wakes up to see the face of the man next to her, and she falls completely in love all over again. -- Beautiful lyrics. | |
| DJ Sammy – Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's important for everybody to take a step back and not only appreciate the original, but the remixes as well. The original was so classically beautiful that it was deserving of several remakes/remixes. All can be appreciated. | |

I agree with Batwit. I think it's a brilliant use of words. he asks her not to "burn her heart out" which also implies that she's put so much effort into trying to make relationships work that she's so close to quitting completely. he wants to spend his life with her... till ashes are spread over seas. beautiful song. |
