This song makes me think of moving on with life from my hometown to this new place I'm studying in. "Tobacco road" refers to the East coast (specifically the Carolinas) if I'm not mistaken but correct me if I'm wrong these guys live in Seattle now. I left my hometown to pursue an education and this actually makes me think of my past and what's in store for my future. I decided to go to University to get an education (not for the money but that's what I want to do in life). Doesn't mean that I think less of the Blue Collar workers, I was one myself and respect the work that they do hell, sometimes they know more than university educated people and have street sense. "Life is what makes you". That line makes me think deeply and about my past experiences. It's not what you know but what you've experienced that makes you who you are. In conclusion.... not to be too egotistical I think that I'm almost the perfect blend of street sense and higher education. While others are getting drunk and partying I'm doing my thing, hard work and preparing my life for what the future holds for me. |

I think so. There's definitely elements of Hip Hop and references to NY. It's evident that there's references to Emceeing (MC, Verbalizer, etc.), and breaking. I see some deeper metaphors or references to Graffiti kind of, either that or putting pen to paper and writing lyrics. |
