| Peter Bjorn and John – I Want You! Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think it's What a waste of money and feelings we don't have The meaning is very easy, from my point of view; It's about a boy, really in love with his friend (the girl). But the girl just sees him as a friend, and nothing more. She tries to hook him up to her sister, but he doesn't want her sister, he wants her. But the girl is in love with another boy, "the wrong choice". And it's really cool, because all of it is in the cinema. [[We stayed and talked about fear She wont cry and this time I know its not for me]] This is just friends-talk, you know, you talk with your best friend about everything, and I guess she was afraid to speak to the one she liked [[For sure she kept asking for more What a waste of money And feelings we dont have]] He actually really just wanted to leave, he didn't feel comfortable talking about the girl's crush. But she wanted him to stay. [[Dont choke hes coming your way Bound to choose the wrong choice again Oh my God is it that hard for you to see that I want you]] Then they meet the girl's crush, and the girl is just freaking out - totally excited - because that's how girls react. And the; don't choke, he's coming your way, sounds sarcastic. He's annoyed with her 'exaggerated' state, and doesn't understand why she can be so exited about that guy, but not about him. He knows he loves her much more than the stupid crush of hers, I guess it also isn't the first time she's crushing on someone else. He just waits around until she finally sees he wants her. [[Cold feet Your sister is sweet, oh so sweet. But listen, its you Id like to meet Calm down. You act like a clown. I dont care. This movie, it only brings me down So down And I dont know why Supposed to be one of a kind Cant pretend here comes the end And I cant help it I want you you you you]] He's got cold feet - doesn't feel comfortable, and she really wants him to be happy, that's why she tries to hook him up. But he's interested in her, and no one else. In the meantime, she's just exited about the crush, the movie, I don't know, but he doesn't care about all of that. He just wants her. |

When I started to think about the song, it really scared me. I think it's about sexual abuse. Maybe not only a rape, but also in a bigger period of time. ((Running off over next door's garden Before the hour is done)) Probably he doesn't want anyone to know about this, 'before the hour is done', before someone gets home. He obviously doesn't want to be known. ((It's more a question of feeling Than it is a question of fun)) He's not doing it because he likes it, but because he can't help it. ((The confidence is the balaclava I'm sure you'll baffle 'em good But the end will reek of salty cheeks And runny makeup alone)) He's protected by the balaclava, and he'll surprise her, but in the end; she's crying and scared. ((Will blood run down her face)) Well, this is when he starts to hit her. ((Of a boy bewildered and scorned Will you'll find yourself in a skirmish Will you wish you'd never been born And you tie yourself to the tracks And there isn't no going back And it's wrong wrong wrong But we'll do it anyway cause we love a bit of trouble)) Maybe the boy's got troubles as well - he's doing this because he went through something very traumatic. And you hear this all the time; when people have bad experiences, they end up doing it bad things too. And in the back of his mind he knows it wrong, and he asks himself if this will make him feel better, or worse. But he does it anyway, 'because he likes a bit of trouble'. ((Are you pulling her from a burning building Or throwing her to the sharks?)) Well, he thinks he's doing the right thing. Just because he wants her so bad. ((Can only hope that the ending is a pleasurable as the start The confidence is the balaclava)) This is him doubting again, maybe he should stop anyway. But the balaclava makes him feel like another person and pushes away his concience. ((I'm sure you baffle 'em straight And it's wrong wrong wrong, she can hardly wait)) He lets himself believe it's right what he does. He tells himself she wants it as well, even though he knows he's wrong. ((That's right, he won't let her out his sight)) He doesn't want her to have any other relationship - he's always there to keep her in his sight. He's obsessed with her. And that's what's making him do something he shouldnt've done. ((Now the shaggers perform And the daggers are drawn Who's the crooks in this crime?)) He just went too far. He killed her. - daggers, crooks. ((You'll be able to post any day of the most For the sights of all time)) Don't know, really. I don't understand the sentence. :$ ((You knew that he'd be trouble right before the very first kiss Quiet, unassuming but you heard that they were the naughtiest)) He knows her because at first she kissed him, nothing too serious, but she didn't know he'll be all obsessed and abusing. She didn't know he would go after her. ((She pleaded with you to take it off But you resisted and faught Sorry sweetheart, i'd much rather keep on the balaclava)) She begged him to leave in the start, but he didn't want to, and that 'id much rather' doesn't fit in my thing. I don't think it is 'id much rather'. I think this song is very interesting built; First you get some random night in the middle, then slowly you get to know what happened, and how he thinks, Then you get the part where he's gone too far and killed her, and the song is still repeating the 'won't get her out of his sight', he's panicked. He keeps rewinding the last bits, and in the end, you get to hear how it all started. Very dark song, but it's amazing. |

I think this song is about love, and some different aspects of it. (The saving grace was the feeling That it was her heart that he was stealing He was ready to impress And the fierce excitement The eyes are bright He couldn't wait to get away) This is about the part where they fall in love, he was ready to make her love him, they were excited. (And I bet that Juliet was just the icing on the cake Make no mistake, no) This is about people doubting if their love is true or not; I bet she's not thát important to him, but make no mistakes, she might be. (And even if somehow he could have shown you The place you wanted Well I'm sure you could have made it that bit better on your own) This is about how love can not be perfect, never. In a way, even if he'd do everything you expect him to do (shown you the place you wanted), it won't be perfect and you could make your life even more like you want it on your own. (And I bet she told a million people that she'd stay in touch But all the little promises that don't mean much When there's memories to be made) This is about telling people they're important too, but deep inside she knows that he's the most important person and she wants to be with him (make memories together) (And I hope you're holding hands by New Year's Eve They made it far too easy to believe That true romance can't be achieved these days) So even though some people are wary, the singer wishes them the best (I hope you're holding hands by New Year's Eve) because you don't have to listen to people who say true romance can't be achieved. (You are the only ones who know) They're the only ones who really know that true romance cán be achieved, but it's can't be perfect. Amazing song, amazing music. Magical. |

The song is amazing, just like all the other songs of the 1990s. (: I think it's about a boy who's really annoyed with the girl - he doesn't like the way she talks or the things she does. But in the end he still loves her. |
