this song is autobiographic, its raw, and its honest. and its like some of his later songs which are so bitter. its just truth. theres no denying how talented this guy is. he changed the whole rap scene eventually but obviously he there were sacrifices along the way...
i have a sligtly different take on this. being a new student nurse in my first year and having just started my first placement on a hospital ward i uses this song (the lve lounge version) to overcome difficult time and situations i face with patients. because this songs all about wanting to better yourself with your career. and its hard. people are going to be with you helping you acheive it whilst others are going to against you waiting for you to slip up. and no matter how hard you try your going to make mistakes. but whats important is that you dont let them ruin your dreams.. you learn from them and cary on striving. at all sorts of costs. eminem is or was a multi millionaire but look at how hard it was for him. but now hes sort of backed down from his career and i presume hes doing to spend time with his childeren. he acheived what he wanted in life you know?
basically, its scary having to do something new especially when its not in your comfort zone be it stage fright or doing something like giving yur first injection.. two very different situations but relatively the same kind of adrenaline inducing event

i totally agree with kaoura's message! i can relate to this song on so many different levels. its such great lyrics with a perfect angry music background! it kind of soothes me. weird i know. if you want to anylase this its easy to relate it to relationship thats on the rocks. its coming to the end of its course and the female half is getting insecure and turning into something the guy doesnt recognise anymore and its emotionally tiring him; hes bitter and fed up but theyre not going to let thier relationship die wothout a fight 'cos its obvious they had something good at some point!? anyone agree/disagree? |

the female vocals in this song are beautiful. the song is so sobviously about love in relation to losing someone to a terminal illness, possibly someone quite young. its so sad. however, it also strikes me as a bit weird becasue ironiks vocals just dont seem to fit. mind you, im basing this opinion on the live lounge version. listenig to the origional, it does work. no doubt its a great song straight from the heart... |
