I can't get this song out of my head. I love how this song has an old school rock feel to it. Its (as far as Gaga goes) pretty stripped-down and honest. |

What an awesome song. Even after getting past the exchange student metaphor (a quirky choice, but I think it makes the song even more easy to relate to) the song is incredibly relevant. It goes even further to suggest that we should reach out to people in this situation, especially when we are in positions to do the ignoring. |

Its funny how some people are still stuck on TAYF. Its obvious that the sound of that album is a) one of a kind, and b) never going to happen again. This album is a huge push forward for TBS's sound. I think that it will definitely be one of the few albums that will frequent my cd player/ipod/computer this summer. Props to TBS for not dwelling on past successes and evolving.

I love this song as an opener. "...someone who's lost, getting older by the minute..." is a feeling I'm sure people experience sometimes, especially kids in college and beyond, when you look on TV and all around you and see kids younger than you doing big things. Although the song has some pretty negative undertones, it has a pretty uplifting message. |

Let me be the first to say that this song is my favorite off the new album thus far. I'm having troubles connecting the different verses, but..
some of the verses seem to be about how rock stars all seem to have so much charisma, but are really it's just a facade to hide deeper desires, which may or may not have something to do with the chorus.(?) |

| The Academy Is... – Sodium Lyrics

I feel like this song would fit in at the end of the album, couldn't possibly explain why it didn't make it. What an awesome song!!!
The whole album is about "high school" and with "Paper Chase" and "One More Weekend" it is obvious the whole theme is about your last summer before going away to college/real life.
This song seems like it could be about knowing that your time dating somebody (who is younger than you) is almost up (b/c most relationships don't last through college).
Idk if that makes any sense, but it's just a jumping off point |
