This is my favourite Supertramp song - always makes me think of a man who is trying to help a narcisistic depressed person who has too much pride to ask for help; but the man wants to help because he's been there. One of the best arranged songs ever.

I know he wrote it for Billy Jean King but I wish it had a deeper meaning - like gay rights or civil rights. That's the way I explained it to my kids who are crazy about this song. The words can apply to a lot more than a tennis team.
