You know that I was hoping That I could leave this star-crossed world behind -He was wanting to leave, or die But when they cut me open -When he was enlightened I guess I changed my mind -He changed his mind! -This next part is saying that he was wanting to die, and to get away from this world. But then, when the truth, or God, was revealed to him, he decided to stay. And you know I might have just flown too far from the floor this time, 'cause they're calling me by my name -He thinks he has learned too much, and they're calling him back to their world full of deception. And they're zipping white light beams Disregarding bombs and satellites -Those white light beams are lies they send out on television, bombs can't solve them, and satellites distribute them. And that was the turning point That was one lonely night -This is when he says, "Alright, this is enough, I am never going back, I don't care how alone I am!" The star maker says it ain't so bad -The starmaker, God, tells you that it's not so bad, keep up your faith in him! The dream maker's gonna make you mad -Your dreams probably won't come true. The world is going to do all in their power to stop you. The spaceman says "everybody look down, it's all in your mind" -The spaceman is the deciever, or the devil. He says look down, the reality is just all in your mind, its not real. But now I'm back at home and I'm looking forward to this life I live -He now is settled with his beliefs and wants to do good things through God. You know it's gonna haunt me -He is always going to be persecuted So hesitation to this life I give -He is now starting to be hesitant You think you might cross over You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea -Talking to people who think they want to join him, they are caught between the Devil and God. The Sea is all the good things that he could have, while the Devil is the deceiver. You better look it over Before you make that leap -He is saying that you better make sure you don't choose the wrong path. And you know I'm fine But I hear those voices at night sometimes -He is fine now that he is on God's side, but he still hears the voices of the Devil saying, come back! And they justify my claim -They remind him to not go back And the public don't dwell on my transmission 'Cause it wasn't televised -What he has gone through will not be televised because then the Devil would be ruined. But it was a turning point, oh what a lonely night -Again, he turned his life over to God, and in doing so, he has become the minority. My global position systems are vocally addressed -They are talking to him again, trying to convert him. They say the Nile used to run from east to west They say the Nile used to run From east to west -Metaphor here. They say the Nile used to run a direction it never did. This can be applied to anything that they say. I'm fine, but I hear those voices at night sometimes -Same explanation as on these same lines previously. The star maker says it ain't so bad The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says everybody look down it's all in your mind -Same explanations on chorus. It's all in your mind It's all in my mind -He has heard this so many times its hard for him to get it out of his head, and to believe the truth. They are somewhat starting to bring him back here, because he is starting to say "My mind" instead of "Your mind". This demonstrates the fluctuations we experience when we are saved by God. It is hard to keep his commandments, especially with the World out there, telling us things that aren't true. Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh This is just how I see it. Of course, it could have a 100 different meanings, but to me, I see it as a story of a man being saved. It just takes a more unique way of getting the point across. |
