| Jenny Wilson – Lika A Fading Rainbow Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Isn't it something like "no pockets full of grains of crumbs of wheat, the cake that's soft and sweet? That's closer to what I hear. Reminds me of Cinderella. |

| Feist – How Come You Never Go There Lyrics | 14 years ago |
From the actual album's poster: how come you never go there? how come I'm so alone there? I went up to the window Lighting banging on the cymbals I ripped into the night Came storm into your house The horse had worked the fields too long My bear had lost its innate calm It's true enough we're not at peace But truth is never what it seems My heart is not the light it was And when I walk inside the dark I'm gone So while we look for where it went It's only echoes in the valley love Why waste time on blame and wreak revenge Waste energy on projections We're living proof we gotta let go And stop looking through the halo We carry on as if the time is through You carry on as if I don't love you And so we find the way is out To cut the heart out of the doubt now The room's full but hearts are empty Like the letters never sent me Words are like a lasso But you're an instrumental tune How come you never go there? How come I'm so alone there? |

| Land of Talk – Some Are Lakes Lyrics | 15 years ago |

| Land of Talk – Some Are Lakes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
yeah, she said it's about her parent's still loving each other after 40 years. So it's kind of about their love but from their own perspective, as if it were her father singing it. |

| Damien Rice – Elephant Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well I don't think he's referring to an ex-girlfriend, or to another woman at all. I think he's referring to the same girl's other personality; it's either very literal, as in maybe she's crazy and really changes her character (I don't know, schizophrenia?), or maybe he means that she's always changing around him, acting in two different ways, as if she had two personalities (but not literally). He's saying, "this has got to stop, with someone else on top", like maybe he wants the nicest part of her to take over... I think it makes sense. Or maybe it's just cause I relate. |

| St. Vincent – The Strangers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Lover, I don't play to win, Befall the thrill until I'm spent Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker I threw flowers in your face On my sisters wedding day Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker You showed up with a black eye Looking to go start a fight Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker Playboys under the mattress Like I wouldn't notice Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker What do I share What do I keep From all the strangers who sleep where I sleep Desperate don't look good on you Neither does your virtue Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker Good souls have won better sons, Better souls grow worse ones (?) What do I share What do I keep From all the strangers who sleep where I sleep You showed up with a black eye Looking to finish a fight Lover, I don't play to win Befall the thrill until I'm spent Paint the black hole blacker Paint the black hole blacker |

| Camera Obscura – My Maudlin Career Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I hear: "we were love at first sight now this crush, it's crushing I chased your steps through the city of romance lazily, I took to the desert with your heart, she (?) and deceives me" I definitely do not hear: "Now we're in love again And you're wherevers" she says something else, don't know what. then I think it's "now I've been wearing your feelings, like they were worth protecting" and maybe it's "I embrace" instead of "I'll brace"... not sure. |
