I think it's about a religious secret that he has "I've got a secret. It's on the tip of my tongue, it's on the back of my lungs. And I'm gonna keep it. I know something you don't know." -means that he really wants to share guilty secret. "Repent! Repent! The end is nigh! Repent! Repent! We're all gonna die! Repent! Repent! These secrets will kill us! So get on your knees, and pray for forgiveness!" - means that he has seen some sort of sign of the apacolypse and that we have little time until the end of the world, and we should use this time to repent. "I counted my blessings, now I'll count this curse." - means that what he knows is a curse and that he wishes he did not know of this "end". "We all carry these things inside that no one else can see. They hold us down like anchors. They drown us out at sea. I look up to the sky, there may be nothing there to see. But if I don't believe in him, why would he believe in me?" -means that he should have faith without sight. "seeing what no one else can see" means that he has seen some sort of religious secret possibly the "end" mentioned earlier. Or maybe even God himself. |

I think it's about lies and deceit. "Why are you panting baby? Is it to hard to keep up with what you said?" - means that she's struggling to keep up/cover up her lies. "So many lights ahead, if only we kept our eyes open. But now I understand that even if I was blind I could have clearly seen how filthy you really are." -means that if he would have pain a bit more attention he could have easily seen these lies ahead of time. "I haven't heard one thing you have said; this whole time you were talking I was too busy picturing you dead." -means that at this point he's done listening to anything she has to say, and he's so upset he's picturing her dead. "It would have been an excellent story, but I had to get up off the train." -means that he's tired of the lies and he has to leave. Her being an excellen "story" implies that it's ALL been a lie. "If only it was that easy story teller.. Would you mind never speaking to me again? I would like for you to remain a myth." -means that he wishes it were as easy as just saying goodbye. I think it's about religion as well. "Have you ever heard a thunder bolt voice your name?" -means that people supposedly "hear god" or it refers to the fact that we've never actually seen him. "Lets all just reach our hands into the dark, And feel what reaches back!" -means that Christians lead lives of blind faith and that they "stick there hands into the dark" meaning that they put themselves at risk based on something they've never actually seen. "I stopped subscribing to you a long time ago, But I still see you, every fucking month!" -means that he stopped believing in god a while back, but Christianity is still imosed on him in some way. (perhaps through friends or family). "Dragging the moisture from the air, I am so dry... Let me get a sip of what you Want me to say! I am so thirsty!" -Finding Christ is often refered to as "quenching your thirst" so i think here it means that he is dry and does not have Christ in his life. "what you want me to say" may mean that he acts like a Christian for someone else and says the things that person wants him to say. |

absolutely... I agree wholeheartedly... but i must add- the chant at the end- Finding Jesus is often refered to as "Quenching your thirst" and this here means that he is dry on account of not having God. |
