| Ke$ha – Tik Tok Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Lizclayton, I really hope you are a troll. I REALLY do. If not, well... Then you need to make sure you're listening to the right song. fabercastell, you lost everyone at "I'm 15 years old." Besides that, I don't actually *understand* what you're trying to say here. You are asking us if we want the kids to want this music? Or do we want kids to want to party until 4 in the morning, getting "a little bit tipsy"? The answer is no, to both questions. Regardless, this song is no satire. Ke$ha REALLY is that bad of a role model, and if you don't believe me, look up Noah Cyrus Tik Tok on youtube. Yes, that is a 9-year-old singing this song and pretending to drink. Nydneyshoutnever, remember that we're in America, and ruled by money. Of course immature and stupid people get signed by record labels, because they MAKE MONEY. Because Ke$ha brings in the lovely green bills, she can do whatever she wants, like spell something that gets publicized horribly wrong. There's a reason record labels don't drop people for stupidity and embarrassment. The more press that's on, say, Lindsay Lohan, the more likely that someone will say "Hey, she's got a new album out, let's listen!" Mainstream culture doesn't care about what's right, or what's smart. It cares about what's profitable, what's popular, and what's pretty. Sadchild is right, and if you still have any respect for today's mainstream culture, you have missed something. A lot of somethings. |

| Eminem – The Real Slim Shady Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It was funny to read the first page of the comments. rainbow8711 said "..it doesn't really matter because no-one even likes eminem anymore, it's totally uncool to like him (finally) and whats more, he has totally dissolved into the depths of music world along with spice girls, take that and westlife. whats that you say, westlife are still around. oh shit well we can but hope..." I laughed and asked myself "WTF?" until I saw the year on that post: 2002. Forward to 2010, his most recent album is one of the best-selling of the year, and most people I know like his stuff, even if they're not fans of rap. Just earlier today, I put on this song for classmates and everyone was singing along! Eminem is far too iconic for rap to be forgotten, and we're certainly not going to be forgetting him anytime soon. Anyway, this song is pretty good. Much of his stuff is good; there is some that I don't like, but the stuff that I do like outweighs what I don't. Keep it up, Em! And give us more fun pokes at society and the media. |

| Avril Lavigne – Sk8er Boi Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Well she's "all alone," so she's obviously not married, or with the guy she had the kid with. Probably whored with a guy her friends deemed "good enough," and got pregnant. | |
| Miley Cyrus – Can't Be Tamed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I just LOVE how egotistical she is (note: sarcasm). Here's what I think, lyric by lyric, excluding the chorus. For those who don't know me, I can get a bit crazy ("A bit" of an understatement... I'd say batshit insane.) Have to get my way, yep, 24 hours a day (uh huh... High maintenance much, or are you just telling us how much of a brat you really are?) 'Cause I'm hot like that (Oh really? Got much of an ego?) Every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention (I wouldn't say EVERY guy... I don't think starving guys in Africa give a shit about little Miley Cyrus.) Like I'm under inspection (Yes, they're looking at that zit on your forehead.) I always gets a ten, 'cause I'm built like that (I'd say more of a 6 1/2) I go through guys like money flying out the hands (You admit it, you are a whore!) They try to change me but they realize they can't (and then they give up, because they're tired of putting up with you) And every tomorrow is a day I never plan (No foresight. Quite... Unpromising...) If you're gonna be my man, understand (#1, I'm not a man. #2, I don't want to be anything of yours, and #3, I understand nothing) If there is a question about my intentions (Yes... What are they, exactly? Because all I see is an intention for self-destruction) I'll tell you, I'm not here to sell you (Like I'd want to be sold... By YOU... Haha) Or tell you to go to hell (But with this line, you are telling me, aren't you. Quite ironic, no?) I'm not a brat like that (But in the last verse you said you had to get your way all the time? That seems a bit brattish to me.) I'm like a puzzle but all of my pieces are jagged (And they don't fit anywhere. Ouch, I just cut myself on one. I hope I don't have AIDS) If you can understand this (Need I repeat myself? I UNDERSTAND NOTHING.) We can make some magic, I'm wrong like that (Eww... Are you implying sex with "magic"? And you're wrong like what? I do not comprehend your meaning.) I want to fly, I want to drive, I want to go (Where? Hasbin land? I know how to get a one-way ticket) I want to be a part of something I don't know (Well then you better figure it out) And if you try to hold me back, I might explode (We wouldn't want that happening, now would we? I won't be the one cleaning up your miley-mess.) Baby, by now you should now (Don't call me baby... And I know one thing: you're a bratty, slutty girl who thinks way too much of herself.) Yup... In a nutshell, she really is telling you about herself. It really is sad how disgusting the truth can be. By the way, I said nothing about her "talent" (or whether or not she has any... or not). Only she, and the people that manage her really know if she is good. Fans don't. Haters don't. I don't. And it doesn't matter, because, if she is, in fact, bad, we'd never know it because the media would never let it reach the public. |

| Miley Cyrus – Can't Be Tamed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I actually think this is more of a shout to her parents, from what I heard about her. Her parents had a lot of trouble keeping control over her when she was young, especially when she became a star. She would stay out all night with her 18-year-old boyfriend, and her parents would not know where she was (when she was TWELVE, yes TWELVE years of age). She was terrible on set, but everyone wanted her to sound sweet so they said nothing. She's probably even worse now, now that she thinks she's an adult. She needs to sit down, shut up, and do what her parents tell her, or she will go the way of Britney. It only takes ONE unintentional use of drugs to get her hooked for life. Or one head-shaving... Either way. |

| Say Anything – The Church Channel (feat. Hayley Williams) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Lol wow lovesickmelody! I don't think this song would've been as great as it is without Hayley's voice. I love Paramore, and all Hayley's other work. Her voice is great and distinctive. |

| Dashboard Confessional – Stolen Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Little0ne, SOOO romantic! That dance must've been amazing! | |
| Anberlin – Inevitable Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I do a lot of random downloading of music, and this song ended up on my ipod, with me having never heard it before. I was in class when I first heard it, and I literally had to STOP WHAT I WAS DOING to see what song it was. I almost CRIED because it's such a beautiful song! And so romantic! It's obviously about childhood friends who grew up and fell in love, and he's telling her that he wants time to stop so that he can be with her forever, and that he wants to be her only one for the rest of their lives. |
|
| Anberlin – A Day Late Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I definitely agree with fithol.xo. If he didn't feel the same, he wouldn't say: "But I must confess You're so much more than I remember Can't help but entertain these thoughts Thoughts of us together" He still has the hots for her, I think. It's like a movie, I want to know what happens! |

| Paramore – All We Know Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Love all Paramore's stuff. Truly a great band; I listen to them every day. Glad Jeremy didn't stay away, and I hope no one ever leaves. About the MTV thing? Who cares? I don't watch it, so I don't find reason to make it a big deal. If brats are listening to it, oh well. We're the true fans, and that's what matters. |

| Evanescence – Everybody's Fool Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Bringing up the wikipedia entry, it says, "The song is, according to Amy Lee, about fake celebrities who strip and sell their bodies for publicity, though it could also be interpreted that the song is about celebrities who have completely false images." I also like the quotes that LaDiablo gave. Stickin' it to Britney... It never gets old. |

| Evanescence – Everybody's Fool Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Amy has 2 sisters and 1 brother. But she did have another sister who died at 3. | |
| Nine Days – Absolutely (Story Of A Girl) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You know the lead singer too, I bet! English teacher at your school is what I read. | |
| Blue October – Hate Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
If I remember correctly, the song's about what he put his mother through because of his addiction. The voice mail recording is a real phone message from his mother. She was also in the music video. Glad to see that he's got his life on track, and his mother and family helped him get there. :) |

| Sick Puppies – What are you looking for Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yes they did, and that's the only version I ever hear on the radio... I have the first version of the song. Have any idea where I could find the new version for download? | |
| Sick Puppies – Rock Kids Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Oh yes, this is pretty self-explanatory. Pop is bad, rock is good. Real artists get crumbs while lip-syncers and possessed 'artists' get everything, because of their images. It sucks! This song makes me love Sick puppies all the more. |

| Pink – Don't Let Me Get Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I remember first hearing this song when I was a child and wanting to tell the girl in the song that "it's okay, don't hate yourself" and wanting to help her. And I didn't want the girl to hurt herself! Lol how kids think when they hear songs like this. I had forgotten that she referenced Britney Spears, gosh this is bringing back so many memories. | |
| *NSYNC – Bringin' Da Noise Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Disney used this song in one of their DCOMs years ago, and LOVED it!!! Then again, I was like 8 years old, and I was into Britney, Backstreet Boys, and Nsync. Now I'm into harder stuff that actually means something, but I guess I can still hold a place in my heart for the processed stuff. | |
| Justin Timberlake – SexyBack Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I hated this song for years after it came out, because it was Justin Timberlake, and all that "poppy" s**t. But ya know, I kept hearing it and kept hearing it, and well it started to grow on me. It's just one of those songs. | |
| Paramore – We Are Broken Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree with restored innocence. I have The Final Riot DVD, and when they introduce this song, they talk about a charity that is committed to stopping the sex trafficking, and sex slavery of children. The line "And under red lights" seems like a reference to a red light district. | |
| Paramore – Ignorance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Here's what it says on wikipedia about the song-- "The band have revealed that the main theme of the record is internal issues the band have been dealing with for an extended period. Williams specifies that growing up together has been difficult for the band, as people change as they get older. The first single "Ignorance" was what broke the ice and got the band to discuss and resolve their problems. Williams has compared it to "therapy," and has said that initially it was hard presenting her lyrics to the rest of the band. Guitarist Josh Farro has admitted that there was worry about it being difficult playing a song about him and the other members every night, acknowledging that as Williams is the main lyricist, fans only get to hear her point of view." |
|
| Paramore – Ignorance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't think the song has to be about other members of the band, necessarily. It could be, but not every song they write is about themselves and the band's issues. If it happens to be about that, however, I do hope they work it out and stay friends. I would never want them to break up and stop making awesome music. ~Music Is Life~ |

| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| We can do whatever we want in our religion, seeing as we have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. We're not religious communists, so stop pushing THAT on us. Nobody said you had to read the religious entries. And if you're so tired of hearing about Jesus, go somewhere where there is no Christianity. Good luck finding a place... And don't insult our messiah by compairing him to a children's character. Yes, duh, there are similarities. But that's because the Easter bunny is a symbol for the Christian holiday. | |
| Pink Martini – Lilly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is my dog's song! Her formal name was originally Lilly, and we would play this song for her all the time, because my mom found this song just after we'd named her. We don't call her Lilly, but we play it for her, she'll still howl to it! lol | |
| The Killers – Somebody Told Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Maybe with the boyfriend/girlfriend part, he's talking directly about the rumor that he was gay/bi. That it was ruining his 'moonlight' (limelight). Maybe he was trying to get with this girl who heard the rumor that he was gay/bi, and he is trying to assure her that he's not. | |
| SR-71 – 1985 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Lol I like the "the rubber broke" part! | |
| SR-71 – 1985 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Sr-71 did the original? Awesome! | |
| Linkin Park – Leave Out All the Rest Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The weird thing about this song (for me specifically) was that the first time I heard it, I was reading Breaking Dawn for the first time. I only found out months later that this song was on the Twilight soundtrack. I was at the part right before and when Jacob imprints on Renesmee. Read from the bottom of page 355 to page 360 while listening to this song, and you'll see how perfect it is. To me, this song will always be Jake in Breaking Dawn. |
|
| Paramore – Decode Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Pretty cool how Paramore did the soundtrack songs. Decode from Bella's POV, and I Caught Myself from Edward's. I'm so glad they got to write these for the movie. I'm in LOVE with Paramore. | |
| Paramore – I Caught Myself Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is a very interesting interpretation. I never thought about it from EDWARD's point of veiw, always Bella's. It makes more sense from Edward. :) | |
| Nightwish – Amaranth Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is good. The beginning melody reminds me of a lullaby. | |
| Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love this song. It reminds me of my dog, who died, and I miss him (pathetic huh? lol). Also reminds me of my childhood because this song was popular then. <3 the piano! | |
