I think that the song is about emotionally killing this girl by charming her, hooking up, and then leaving before she realizes she's been had. Then he meets a girl who actually charms him, but then she leaves him, and he begins to feel remorse. |

I think the song is about infidelity. "twice as much ain't twice as good/and can't sustain like one half could" to me means that to have his girlfriend and the other girl is not better and its harder to maintain two relationships at the same time. The gravity is the attraction to a new girl. Another giveaway line is "its wanting more thats gonna bring me to my knees" |
