| Camera Obscura – French Navy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'd always thought this song was about the difficulties of having a relationship with someone who spends more time than not rather far away from you. "We met by a trick of fate, French Navy my sailor mate" Of all the people in the world, I somehow managed to meet you, while you were here on shore leave. "I wanted to control it, but love I couldn't hold it" I wanted to keep cool and have a reign on my emotions, but I love you. Even though it can't really work out because you're only here for a little while. I can't help myself. |

I'm looking up and God is saying, "What are you gonna do?" I'm looking up and I'm crying, "I thought it was up to you!" Man. That is an awesome lyric. |

| The Gun Club – For The Love of Ivy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I had a discussion with a friend about this song a little while ago, and he suggested that the song has something to do with Poison Ivy from the Cramps. I can't see anything in the lyrics that would suggest that, but he seems dead sure. Maybe he's never looked at the lyrics. Anyone know anything about that? |
