This song gives me chills every time I hear it..."A thousand sails approaching, sent here in her name"...I love that line! I knew from that verse that it was indeed about Paris and Helen, hence The Face that Launched a Thousand Ships. It's such a great song and it's nice to hear them sing a song without any screaming, which I love by the way. Shawn's sister Melissa has such a beautiful voice...I love her in As You Wish. Just a question; someone told me that the other guy singing is Dennis...is that true? If so that's very cool to hear him singing instead of screaming. Awesome song! |

This song is obviously about someone getting stabbed in the back by a person who they thought was their friend...I love this song because I can easily relate. Someone who I thought was my best friend stabbed me in the back, and now is not my friend any longer. Alesana, you rock! |

This song is amazing...I love Alesana! They're songs are awesome! When I first heard this song I thought it could be about a guy who's like obsessed with a girl (hence the title I guess) and is stalking her. Finally his obsession takes over and he closes in on her and she's terrified (Her trembling is driving me wild! Her shrieks are so intoxicating!) but he loves her fear.
Then I was looking at some Brothers Grimm stories, since that's what a lot of the songs on this album are based off of and I found a story that's a bit similar to this song. It's called " Mary's Child". It's about a girl who is taken to Heaven by the Virgin Mary because her parents couldn't take care of her. She lived in Heaven and was very happy. Then one day the Virgin Mary has to leave for a while and gives the girl 13 keys to 13 doors. She is allowed to open all but the 13th one, or she will be very unhappy. The girl agrees but ends up wanting to open the 13th door, which relates to this song: "What is beyond taht door? As I take a step back I wonder could I go on and turn the key?" Finally she does and the Virgin Mary sends her to earth where she basically suffers. It doesn't exactly match the song but it's kind of similar. Anyways that's just what I found. |
