I think all too often people let their own emotions depict the meaning of a song. I'm not saying that's a negative thing, but it does tend to skew what the artist may have originally intended in his lyrics. I will however agree that based on the obscurity of his lyrics that it's VERY easy to conjure up an number of psychedelic references especially if you have a history of doing drugs yourself. We make music out to be what we want...that's the beauty of it. It can mean any number things to any number of people and nobody is necessarily wrong because music is about individuality and therefore unless it's blatently clear what the artists is talking about then we have all the room in the world to "assume" what we perceive the song to be about. So finally to your point Suicida, I'd say that it does have to be all about drugs for some people, and it doesn't :) Hope that was broad and vague enough so that I left room to be both right and wrong :P |
