i was thinking almost the same exact thing :) but the part when he says, "i brought down the sky for you, but all you did was shrug" i think its about how much people trusted him, and he screwed everything up. and he didnt care about how everyone felt afterwards " we're all ok, until the day we're not The suface shines, while the inside rots We raced the sunset, and we almost won We slammed the breaks, but the wheels went on" i think he's talking about how people thought he was going to help us... and they thought he was a really good person, but inside he was really wasn't. to me i think this song is about them singing about equal rights for poeple. how so many people lie about them, "what we are is the sum of 1000 lies". And about people being strong enough to bare all this criticism, and the daily pain some people go to just wanting to be treated equally. " let us cry, let us be. let us open up our hearts without fear of anything" thats what this song means to me.. |
