Kevin Drew – Gang Bang Suicide Lyrics 16 years ago
HOW CAN NO ONE ANALYZE THIS SONG? Here are the most telling and important lyrics as I see it...

"With the lights on the skin
They say war will never win
If you like to sew up
Then i wish you would grow up
And take the lines from your face
Age so sweet and replace

It's the soul that i want
It's the low belt and caught
It's the size of my heart
It's a house we can start

Well your mouth is a gun
Yeah your mouth is a gun...
You hate it all in you..."

AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? First off, war is an inevitable atrocity that you must accept to be enlightened. And "war," can be any two conflicting ideologies fighting through military, governement, people, love and sex. However, this is the war for an old porn star or sex seductress in my opinion and her war against her aging beauty. This quote leads me to believe she is going to use cosmetic surgery...

"If you like to sew up
Then i wish you would grow up
And take the lines from your face
Age so sweet and replace."

Kevin is suggesting that if she wants surgery to look more beautiful that she needs to grow up, because this enlightenment of accepting wars is the way to age gracefully...and this way he will love her forever with his heart-like house! And lastly, her mouth being a gun is a sexual entente suggesting that her blowjobs are in fact killing herself, or for that matter killing those she pleasures as a double sided gun. I read an interview with KD on the sexual explicit nature of the album , and it revolves around his adolescence and love for pornography etc, and how the characters in the film are real people also. Comments? Thoughts? This is my first day as a member, and I wanted to read the lyrics.

Guillemots – Trains to Brazil Lyrics 16 years ago
I analyze every song I listen to frequently and I must admit this has been one of the more difficult songs for me to pigeon hole, likely because I did not know about the terrorist activity history in the song. That being said, I think the whole part about his 'old girlfriend in school', is just to show a place and time or person who made him care about nothing- total APATHY as an innocent YOUTH... "Nothing really mattered when you called out my name. In fact Nothing really mattered at all."

As we grow older our innocence dies, and our vision of the world becomes bitter. And the ultimate loss of innocence is the loss of an innocent life by a political or religious zealot. It shows the Guillemots that life is so short and uncertain. That the only control we have is to be thankful and happy to be alive, for the outside world is capricious and evil, and it cares nothing for your plans, just as he cared of nothing in school; nothing at all.

Listen to The Shins "Nothing at all," single EP to develop these theories on nothingness.
