Kids don't wake up from nightmares or bedtime stories from shivering colds. No drug ensures "more (perverse) love" to a struggling addict. In that part the voice is doubled with a more grave one. No thing gathers fear and surrounds you with his arms and licks you in your bed other than a sexual agressor. It's too late to turn the lights on. It's about child sex abuse. It can metaphorically extrapolate to addictions or toxic relationships -usual sequels, by the way-, but it is undoubitably about that.
Also, no one mentioned that the song uses EXPLICITLY the word 'victim', not pray. And survivors of abuse use it ALWAYS. |
