| I'm not really sure what this song is about, but it's always struck me that Disturbia rhymes with Suburbia which surely is intentional. It makes me think somehow of someone trapped in a life they're not happy with. Might fit with the panic attack/paranoia theories others have suggested. | |

I think this song is about a guy who feels betrayed by the church, a father/minister ("hide behind your collar") maybe even sexual abuse ("What is done in vain" and "And you take your time, And you do your crime, Well you made your bed, I'm in mine"). The second verse is about him turning his back on the church. WHY is lil wayne even in this song?!?! He adds nothing to a brilliant track. |

Actually unf4mili4r, I think the word "another" could just as easy support Trusty's interpretation. The "another girl" could be one in a string of woman the male singer finds his secret male lover with. "I fail to find So hard to find And I can't find a way for you and I to go" makes me think he (the singer) can't see a way for the relationship to work while his lover is lying to friend and maybe himself. The lines: "All this time I've been living without you boy But not your lyin'" makes me think they have been living apart because one can't come to terms with his sexuality. But really, if Julian said it on JJJ then it probably is from a woman's perspective. I love the male/male interpretation though. Also, does anyone else thing it's "Go on explain" not "go and explain"? Go on explain creates a scene of "I'm seriously sick of listening to your lies, I saw you with her!". Maybe I'm wrong. Absolutely stunning track. How great are the presets? |
