I agree completely. I adore this song and I never really get "hooked" on a song but for the past few days it wont get out of my head. But you're right what people dont focus on is the "than" and the "NO, this is how it works" There are two different views of love the tragic version and the hopeful version. Both are very valid beliefs in love depending on ones own experience but both are very hard to look at in one song... and do it well. |

One of the most amazing Conor quotes is:

I love the way he sings "fight like hell" with such conviction. Brilliant.
I adore this song. To me it has everything to do with abandonment and pain. |

I think Conor truly loved this woman. I think however that he was unable to stay with her, not because of who she is, but because of what experiences she has had. All of the things she has gone through. |
