No. In fact politically I fully support gay rights. I just think this song is clearly about performing, not illicit homosexual prostitution. Unless Les himself was quoted explaining the song as a reference to gay sex, I think that interpreting it in such a way is a huge stretch, and you guys need to get your minds out of the gutter. |

Gay sex? What the hell is wrong with you people? This song is clearly about performing on stage. "Running the gauntlet" is a reference to the courage, talent and endurance it takes to get up in front of hundreds of people and play original music. It's about the expectations of the audience for you to play your best, no matter what the conditions are, and that people who pay for a concert don't tolerate mistakes. Anyone who has ever played on stage knows that it takes a lot out of you, especially if you play as hard as Les does. He's playing so hard that his arms cramp up and his knees might buckle, and while the band is playing their heart out, the "boys in the backroom" AKA the managers, producers and venue are charging huge fees that the artists see only a fraction of. I think that's why the live version off of Live Frogs is so drawn out with all the solos. It's a musician's song, about musicians and trying to put on the best show they can. |

| Modest Mouse – Satin in a Coffin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think that this one is about someone he knows that was important to him at one point, most likely a spouse or guardian that was a really flaky drunk or drug addict. "You disappeared so often like you dissolved into coffee" I imagine him coming home and seeing this person passed out on the floor, causing him to voice his frustration and finally letting him/her have it. "Are you dead or are you sleeping? God, I sure hope you are dead." This person is then surprised by his sudden outburst, which furthers the argument. "Do you believe what you're saying? Right now but not that often!" This basically assures that he truly means what he says, and it's not simply unchecked aggression. |

| Modest Mouse – Bukowski Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I said it before and I'll say it again, Modest Mouse gets better the more they sell out. There old shit was bland. This is actually a good tune. | |

I actually think that Modest Mouse is getting a bit better with their new shit. The old stuff was tired, overdone indie garbage. Now they actually have a bit of an edge and some decent production. There radio songs still suck, no matter what album its on. But as long as they stop doing the whiney indie crap or their disco shit, they are great. This song is a great example of them moving in a good direction. |

| The brown album is one of my favorites, how is the brain albums the "shit years?" | |
| Primus – Jellikit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think that this song is all about a musician striving to satisfy his audience without succumbing to pop mediocrity to achieve mass appeal. The phrase "jellikit?" is a humble question that shows they really just want to put on a good show and that's what is is all about. I think that this is why it's only heard live, because of what the song means. It's also a funny note that in the end of the Suck On This recording, Les says, "We're Primus and we suck." | |
| Buckethead – Three Fingers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Am I the only person that thinks this song is cool as hell? I'm not much for the whole spoken word thing, but this song kicks some major ass. | |
| Buckethead – Binge and Grab Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Catchy, but goes on for ever. Would be cool if it was only half as long. | |
| Primus – Shake Hands With Beef Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| As it's been stated before, the song is about Vegetarians who eat meat once in a while, called "shaking hands with beef" | |
