| Xavier Rudd – Anni Kookoo Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Aside from just being about native american use of alcohol, I think this song is applicable to any person who has let alcohol control their lives and felt the void it created in their life. It is really beautiful and heartfelt and a much needed voice in our culture where alcohol is so prevalent. sort of like a grateful dead wharf rat type of song, but much more clear. wharf rat is a song where you have to know that it is about alcoholism prior to listening to understand it, it's a story of someone inside of alcoholism, and much more abstract. this an outsider looking at a culture or people abusing alcohol and commenting on how sad it is. This is a really rare song and I think anyone would be hard pressed to find another song making a similar statement like Xavier rudd is here. That just makes this song even better. And It seems clear the song is about alcohol to some extent. 'the drinking that has stole so many souls... oh the bottle took away my son. what have we become?' |

to add to the people who said this song was happy and positive : "sitting in the morning sun sitting on the dock of the bay" is a very pleasant and peaceful image...and they are the opening lines to the song, the first impression you get of it. and i certainly get really happy when i hear this song come on the radio :-) the song has a lot of meaning and soul though, very beautiful, and you can definitely hear the despair in parts of it. |

| Tupac Shakur – Until the End of Time (RP Remix) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

RE : "MillionDollarBaby" Tupac had his fair share of BS gangster rap. Maybe like 1 in 10 of all of his songs is about political injustice, social issues, or about the struggles he faced in life IE: real art. This song is above all of that though. To me this is sort of a coming of age song. Tupac was grown up now and dealing with a lot of issues and this song just gets it all off his chest. |

Awesome song. Makes you want to get off your ass and do something with yourself. One of the least satisfying feelings in life is knowing you are not living up to your potential and giving life your all. Satisfaction comes from action (root word) and hard work. |

Actually, I think everyone who has ever tripped reaches the same conclusion, that this song is about tripping. Whereas people who have not have other interpretations, which is fine. But it's worth pointing out that this band has obviously done a lot of drugs and it probably had a big influence on their music, especially with this song. Listen to the tribal song on youtube "system of a down arto" afterwards, it seems pretty trippy to me. |

I can't believe how many of these posts don't mention that this song could clearly be about tripping on psychedelics (acid, mushrooms, etc...) If you've ever taken a good amount of acid you will understand these lines: "Swimming through the void We hear the word, We lose ourselves, But we find it all" Anyway, that was the first thing I thought when I heard this song, and it seemed obvious to me. It's a beautiful song and a good reminder about the true nature of reality that were so prone to forget just going about our lives. |
