| The Postal Service – We Will Become Silhouettes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"And we become silhouettes When our bodies finally go" what is a shadow but a reflection of our body- and so to say we become silhouettes when we die, wouldn't that be saying we become memories of who we were and used to be? idk just a though.. that part really stands out in my mind. |

| Editors – The Racing Rats Lyrics | 16 years ago |

so i've been thinking that "Standing at the edge of your town With the skyline in your eyes Reaching up to god The sun says its goodbye" is a reference to dieing and that "If a plane were to fall from the sky How big a hole would it leave In the surface of the earth" might be him asking that if he were to die or someone else, how big of an impression would he or thwey leave? just a thought on it. |

I see what you mean about the heavy 'revaltaion/rapture' vibe it has but being an athiest i cant exactly see it the same way you can. but yes, it is a comforting song :) |

| Interpol – Rest My Chemistry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
so i've been thinking, i'm all for the idea of it being about drugs and how he's deciding to come clean and "rest his chemistry".. But, don't don't you think that it could be about him "resting his chemistry" at a party? maybe he had a lot on his mind so he decided to take a break from all the stress and all the drama of everyday life and just let loose. "my friends they come and the lines they go by" waiting outside of a club with his friends? "i lived my life filled with no pain" he doesnt let life get the best of him. unless he really is using "on cocaine".. then i'm not really sure. lol. and the part "just some rage and three kinds of yes", he doesnt have to be talking about JUST drugs, he could be talking about: sex, drugs, and alcohol, or maybe even switch one of those out for money instead, but paul doent really seem like he'd care too much about money. maybe he doesnt just do drugs maybe he parties. and the "i've made stiarways/hallways such scenes for things that i regret" he could have made an idiot of himself after getting all fucked up or did something he really regreted and that's the aspect of the place that he remembered, it being a hallway or stairway. "oh those days in the sun they bring a tear to my eye" .. pretty obvious, he parties at night and he misses those days where he was out and about and probably not hung over. lol. or maybe he might even want to forget those days and thats why he's doing this. "But you're so young You're so young You look in my eyes you're so young, so sweet, so surprised You look so young Like a daisy in my lazy eyes" he could have been at a party really fucked up either on drugs, alcohol or maybe even both and someone he really cared about or maybe even a fan seen him when he was like that and that made him feel awful. idk, that's all i have so far. just a thought on it :) i love seeing what other peoples take on it. -Kid A |

| Interpol – Leif Erikson Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"Her rabid glow is like braille to the night." you can't see it, but you can feel it? in The Black EP he actually sounds kind of annoyed when he sings this song, he says: "but if your life is such a big Fucking joke, then why should I care?" idk, it's just the way he says it i can't help but think that he's pretty irritated with her. "She swears I'm just prey to the female, Well then hook me up and throw me, baby cakes, cuz I like to get hooked" hahah fuck yeah that's sexy! :D -Kid A |

| Editors – The Racing Rats Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
in the begining someone dies and now he feels as if his life is over. I'm not sure if he's been drinking literaly "words spill from my drunken mouth" or figuatively, but figuatively speaking, when you're drunk you can't always control what you say and so you end up saying a lot of the things that you've held in or thing that if you were sober, you would have never said. But then he realizes. This is life, so suck it up (or at least try to) and keep up with the raceing rats (reference to humans) and do your best to win. |

| Editors – Open Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I really love listening to Well Worn Hand and then Open Up right after; It just feels like two sides of the same story. One saying that they can't go through that same pain that they've been through before, "I can't face the night like I used to before" and the other one saying that everythings going to be alright and not to worry because "there is a space in my heart for you". This song is like a lullaby. It's so sweet and comforting but at the same time, it can really break you down. but that's just how I feel about it. |
