I think the song is about love and a fight and how it hurts some times he says "I felt this way before I fell right through the floor And I am certain I've become Broken, bruised, and numb" And it seems like he's being accused of something but he has also has wrongfully accused her of things. "Would you restate your opinion And hold back your investigation Do you see the sins you're making Cause I've made them all before" I think it hurts him greatly and he tries to tell her but she ignores him.
