Dirty Sanchez – Fucking on the Dance Floor Lyrics 16 years ago
You were close. It's actually Nagel. Referring to Patrick Nagel, an artist who predominantly chooses women as his subject matter. The women he creates are very "perfect" visually. Beauty shops and salons all over have displays of his work in their windows and on their walls.

Fake refers to the nature of these women and the "perfection" they exude.
Beauty shop Nagel refers to the shops all around the world that post his art.

Most of his work is very provocative and sensual.

Azure Ray – No Signs of Pain Lyrics 16 years ago
"and no i don't understand how weightless they must be without feeling." interpreting this - in a manner as described in 'viscosity vs velocity" from girl, interrupted by susanna kaysen - is such a beautiful experience. you know a song is good when you can not only enjoy the way the sounds are put together, but also when you enjoy the way the knot is tied when the vocals added in is absolutely beautiful. I suppose if you have not read that book you will not understand the way i tore that particular lyric apart on my head. just know that this song is deeper than you think. five stars for my favourite azure ray song.

Arcade Fire – Neon Bible Lyrics 16 years ago
I am not opposing what kingofsomeisland said, or that you agree with it for that matter. But I think it is important to remember that no interpretation is "right." Music is meant for everyone to interpret differently. Even if you asked the lead singer what he meant with these specific lyrics, that doesn't mean it can't be something different to someone else. That's the beauty of lyrics. The advantageous grips you can come to when you interpret a song differently from someone else is quite a gratifying feeling.

Silje Nes – Drown Lyrics 16 years ago
This is an absolutely beautiful song. I may be butchering what the artist meant the lyrics to mean, but everybody has their own interpretations. Perhaps it could mean something along the lines of not knowing what you have until it is gone. "We'll bring the water 'til you see what it's worth." When you're just starting to realize how good you have it, it will be taken away from you. The part of the song where she sings "Do you see the sun get soft and round/disappear" could be referring to the subconscious blindness humans possess. The sun sets every day (disappear) and some people are too busy going about their own monotonous lives to realize how beautiful it is. As far as who the "we'll" is, my mind is left to wonder. Who will "bring the water?" In short, it is about humanity and how unappreciative we can be. But when something we want gets taken away, we realize that we were oblivious.

a bit long of an explanation, i suppose.

Chris Garneau – Relief Lyrics 16 years ago
i can see this song meaning both of those things. drug addiction, and being about a girl. either way, it is such a beautiful song. chris garneau has such a beautiful voice. i love that about certain artists. they can sing about such sad or morbid things and make them beautiful. (sufjan stevens also sings beautifully.) love love love.
