Rather than bitching about what and why she sings about what she does try listening to something different. Taylor is known for singing about her pre/post high school experiences. I always say, "You don't need a diary when you have Taylor Swift." Her relationship with John Mayer almost ruined her reputation and being naive doesn't make you stupid or a whore. Instead of blaming Taylor for following her heart why not look at John Mayer, a known, "womanizer." When you can't even talk because your fans are screaming too loud I'm pretty sure that means you are not only an epic performer but also loved by thousands.

because Taylor Swift is referring to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and if you knew ANYTHING about the play, Romeo and Juliet's is forbidden; just like in this song. not a hard concept to grasp. |

a scarlet letter is something given to a person by a society so the person will be ashamed. in this case it has nothing to do with adultery. Juliet is being judged, just like how a society will judge a scarlet letter. |

and this song is called love story for a reason. not ghost story. the reference to Romeo and Juliet is reference to the love the young couple shared, not about their deaths. in any point in the video is Taylor Swift or that really hott guy die?? no. it's not rocket science. this song is really straight forward. ppl are killing this song by over analyzing it. this song is about a young forbidden love that ends happily ever after. remember the last verse??

for anyone that thinks the girl in the song is pregnant deserves to be shot. a scarlet letter is something given to someone by a society branding them. a scarlet letter is something to be ashamed of. the girl in this song is being judged by her lover's family. that's all. no baby. |
