so you're tryin' to do what they did your friends that turned to liquid and got lost in a sea now you're drowning me I think something bad happend to the singer's man, something that also affected his friends, and that his trying to drown his sorrow in alcohol, because that what he thinks pepole do. The singer feel helpless and his saddnes is starting to affect her, too. with your talk of 4-leaf clovers you turn to rocks and omen to beat the ambient harm that is bruising your karma I think he believes that luck is what going to save him from himself, that he don't realize that his the only one who can do that. He's looking for God help and forgets that he needs to way he deals with his pain. oh I wish my arms were wider I wish that I could hide you so you could rest and repair without the blanket of sorrow the thick and the grey your blanket of woe is so heavy and stained She don't know what to do - she knows that hiding him, that sheltering him, will only harm him, but she can't help it but wanting to do so. and it only weighs you down so you thought that getting sober would mean your life was over I don't think it's that bad I don't think it's that sad It sound to me as if she's starting to get angry - She's tired of waiting for him and of his drama. just you sleep a little, baby leave the world alone and later if you wake up alive that old blanket of sorrow could be feathers and down your blanket of woe would leave you alone and I could love you 'til you drown... come to me, let's drown But still, she loves him and care about him, and she can't let him go, despite his actions. She can't live without him, so she's letting him drag her down with him, though she knows it's the bad desicon. |
