Really? No one's commented on this song? I think its about how he feels like this girl has just been waiting for him so she can make him suffer, "with dark clothes dark thoughts on your mind" and she's waiting for him in the "rain", a time when he is already depressed and desperate for someone to lead him out of his depression. He asks who he is to be here now, as in he never thought this could happen to him. "Your mother must have run a school" i think means that he thinks women in general train their daughters to break hearts. Also left out of the lyrics above is "You were born to sing along", saying she was born to play along with how he felt for her until she was ready to say goodbye. Let me know what you think, this is easily one of the best songs on this album. |

I agree. I think its about a woman using him, and she doesn't realize or care that she's hurting him. He knows he needs to leave her and end his pain, but is so in love that he forgives anyhing she does |

God, there's a lot of Reznor worshipers out there. How can you honestly say that this is a good song? Or even a good album? Its all repetitive uninspired shit. Nowadays there are only a few good songs on each album, with a shit load of filler. I don't want to sound nostalgic, but apparently none of you have even listened to pretty hate machine. |
