No it's not drug related, though I can see why you'd say that. The song is actually meant to be an ironic commentary about the Tiananmen Square massacre. The phrase "Shiny Happy People" was actually taken from a propaganda poster the Chinese government put out in response to the incident. Michael Stipe stated this in an interview he did. |

No, it's not about sex, it's about a sci-fi novel Numan was writing when he was younger. Look up his "Replicas" album on Wikipedia for a more in depth explanation. |

There's also a steady warble in parts of the song that reminds me of the sound tires make against pavement. |

You should tell your teacher that it's paying tribute to the victim's of school shootings, thus a good meaning despite being about something bad. |

| Mindless Self Indulgence – I Hate Jimmy Page Lyrics

You obviously don't know MSI very much if you didn't know two things about this song. 1.- James is actually good friends with Jimmy Page
2.- Jimmy Page actually gave him permission to use his name.
MSI just needed a whipping boy that everyone knew the name of, and would cause a lot of people to go "WTF why?" and it looks like it worked perfectly on you pink angel. |

For some reason this song always reminds me of the Sarah William Winchester Mystery House. That one that the lady built very confusingly according to the instructions given to her by "ghosts". The lyrics just seem to be as if they are coming from Sarah William Winchester for some reason. |
