I really love this song cause I can relate to it so well and the beat, like always, is soo cute! :) And at the part where she says, "Ice ice baby!", I laughed so hard when the melody changed to that of the actual song, Ice Ice Baby. (If you listen closely, it sounds like it!) This song is nice cause the lyrics seem to have a bit more depth than some of her other work, and the lyrics are almost like sentences. And I think the above interpretations are right. Love it and Lights! :D <3 |

Has anyone else noticed all the references in this song? Like, the song in itself is an obvious reference to "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa. These are all the references I've found so far: She said she want whatever she like - "Whatever You Like" by T.I. So, that explain why I love college - "I Love College" by Asher Roth Yeah, the type that make you tell a b!tch just dance - "Just Dance" by Lady GaGa And fuck a bus, the Benz is parked like Rosa - the Rosa Parks incident on the bus in 1955 She blamed it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol - "Blame It" by Jamie Foxx The song's alright, too dirty for my liking though. :P |

I think this song's basically about feeling like you're being held back by all the lessons and seriousness of life, and wanting to let go for a minute and just have fun. The lyrics seem a little anti-education though; I know that Miley Cyrus used this for her debut album but I'm a little surprised that (as far as I know) there's been no negative feedback on it (especially since her target audience is young girls). It's a really fun song though, I like it. |

I absolutely love this song, I can't believe no one's commented on it! Personally, I like Alexz's (Jude) version better than Zoie's (Patsy). I think it's about all of a person's struggles as they go through life; she's reminding them to hang on and live their life where they are now, see the sun shining when they've lost their way. She's telling them to drown in the sun, in all its brightness, to in a way, be blind and focus on only the sun -- their hope -- and not see anything else. It kind of reflects the time in Patsy's life when she sings this, right before her death in the show. But Patsy lost the sun.. |

I love this song, it's so cute and fun! :D Also, one of the lyrics is wrong: On the line "I lost my fake I'd but you lost the motel key", It's "ID", not "I'd". And I agree with xbrokensoundsx, I do think it has a deeper meaning, but then I Wiki'd the song and under 'Lyrical inspiration', this is what it says: " Perry explained "Waking Up in Vegas" to The Sun September 26, 2008: "Vegas gives me that 'what the f--- feeling.' It's really close to LA so one night you could be having a beer with your friends and, when you wake up, you're in Vegas." Perry said that the song has some real-life inspiration, [6][7] In a chat with PopEater.com, Perry revealed that she and her then-boyfriend "decided to get fake married". "I was 21. We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate. We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time [and] totally freaked the s--- out of them. It was the most hilarious, stupid prank I've ever pulled, I still have the wedding dress and the certificate." At first I thought it was about dying, like the white linen symbolizes an angel coming to take her to a better place, but I suppose it could be either one since the plague line didn't really fit with that interpretation. | |

I really love this song, it's so beautiful... At the end, when she's vocalizing and singing "oh no", it's the saddest thing I've ever heard. She sounds so hopeless and melancholy, and it's so simple, but yet it's so pretty. And the meaning's so beautiful, the melody is just perfect... Feist truly is amazing. |

This song is absolutely amazing, I can't believe no one's commented on it yet! I can relate to this song so much, and it's really helped me get through a similar situation. I love Kreesha Turner. :D It's about a girl that was blinded by someone she was in love with, she obviously was head over heels in love with him. He didn't really reciprocate those feelings; and he was a bad person, hurting her several times. When she saw this and tried to end the relationship, he begged for her, promising that he wouldn't stop loving her, and ended up hurting her even more. (I'm guessing he eventually dumped her). Now the girl's heartbroken, but she's not going to let it happen to her again. Oh, and I can't help but think that the third line: "He had a flushydam in his mouth had no soul" is wrong. I know the last bit's right, but "flushydam in his mouth" seems really irrelevant. Does anyone know the actual lyric there? |

I think it means that the protagonist's struggling to decide who to pick: her current boyfriend, or this new guy that comes into the picture (I'll call him Brown Eyes). Her boyfriend's not making her very happy, and Brown Eyes seems to understand and know her a lot better, so she falls for him. She wonders that if she breaks up with her boyfriend, Brown Eyes would be hers. I find this song kinda different from GaGa's other material. Not as upbeat, but still good. :D |

To summarize: it's about stalking and being somebody's biggest fan, wanting attention, and becoming famous. I really love this song, by the way. Probably my favourite GaGa song, and fun to dance to. :D |

I think this song is beautiful, it's definitely my favourite Feist song. It always makes me cry when I listen to it, I love the meaning, the lyrics, everything. "It may be years until the day my dreams will match up with my pay" is my favourite line. It's so sad but yet hopeful at the same time. |

I really like this song's lyrics, especially in the chorus ("Dream me near, keep me in your heart and I'll appear"). I just wish it was a little more upbeat so it could be considered a single because I think it's pretty well written for a Miley song. (though she may not have written it herself.) I agree with the above interpretation of friendship, but it could also be about a long-distance relationship. She can be assuring her significant other that there's no need to worry or miss her, because she'll come if she's needed and she'll always be "right here" in his heart. Probably sounds really corny or whatever, but oh well. xD |
