The first time I heard this I wasn't really listening to it and I heard it as "me and the midget", so it was just hilarious to me when I thought he was saying "me and the midget don't see eye to eye". |

I've taken this to be in the perspective of a parent referring to his/her daughter, knowing that she's not going to be sweet and young forever; she's going to go off to school, she's going to get a job, and she's going to get married some day. However, this theory doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you account for the chorus. |
