this song is lovely. one of my all time new favorite christmas songs. however, some of these lyrics are wrong. i believe she says "and i won't crack". after all, it does rhyme with "back". and she says "you are the devil KEEP the hell out of my dreams". and i don't know if it's me, but it sounds like "and it's MIGHTY saaaad". ha. |

can't believe no one's commented yet. fucking lovely song. sounds sort of like a drum machine. and the string arrangements? beautiful. i'm not entirely sure these lyrics are correct, though. it sounds to me like, "what i thought was me, was sorrow now."
and hell if i know what it's about. the lyrics are too vague to really pinpoint a meaning. although the title and the implication of sorrow and "chocolate covered sheets" seem to imply some sort of relationship thing. go figure. |

love this fucking song! seems to be a classic bittersweet love song. he's surrounded by so many great things, but they all seem so dull and pointless without the affection of the one he admires. we've all been there.
also, the second to last line...what's posted seems correct. but on repeated listenings i heard "you send me over, intend to torture". that just seems to make a lot more sense to me. could be mistaken. |

i'm not sure if those last two lines are correct. it sounds different to me, although i can't offer much of an alternative that makes sense.

oh and it sounds more like "peacock" than "big cock".
also, just on a whim, to me this sounds like a song about drugs. namely LSD. especially how it gets signifigantly trippier towards the end when he starts singing about "feeling voices again", perhaps regretting the decision afterwards. also, LSD trips are pretty much governed by the individual's emotions. therefore if he was walking through a parking lot tripping balls and something unfavorable happened to him, it could possibly make the sky appear to be seeping maggots due to his sudden change in mood.
