This song is really special to me too. I pretty much interpret it as others have, but I'm also able to connect it into my personal story. When I was 3 years old, my father commited suicide. Not in December exactly, but just a month after. Now, 30 years later, I still have to deal with that lost relationship as a part of my life, but I have been able to accept Jesus as my saviour within the past couple of years, after many years of blaming God for my father's decision, and so I now have that fatherly love in my life instead. |
