David Phelps – Virtuoso Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't feel qualified to describe this song. It's so beyond my vocabularily and level of articulation.

Virtuoso is a noun for someone who is extremely skilled and excels in musical technique and execution.
David is calling God "Virtuoso" in this song and every lyric fits perfectly. No one can even compete with the one who "made the instrument and wrote the song." Everything we do on our own is "only and imitation" of how it's supposed to be. Creation and Life is to God as a beautiful composition and elegant piano are to a musical master. Only God is so much more, creation is infinitely more powerful and moving than piece by Mozart or Beethoven could ever be.

The music is awesome as well, with the weaving of David's voice and the violin, and the accompanying piano, all building to the key change. Incredible.

Family Force 5 – Lose Urself Lyrics 17 years ago
This one kind of confuses me. Since when is it ok for a guy to ask a girl to "lose herself to him?"
Maybe it's just a little bold for me.

Don't give up or give in, but overcome with dance and celebration and they've got nothing on you.

Casting Crowns – Prodigal Lyrics 17 years ago
This story is repeated all throughout the Bible. The Old Testament Israelites were constantly stuck in this cycle: doing their own thing, realizing their fault, and crawling back to God. God, who we wrong again and again, accepts us back. Not only does he accept us, but he hikes up his robes, exposes his ankles and runs to embrace us. That's the depth of his love. Despite the fact that we "drag His name through the mud" that we wallow in, he loves us.

Chris Rice – Belong Lyrics 17 years ago
God redeems. It starts by describing our pitiful, human selves: "Fatherless and nameless", blind and hopeless in the darkness. But "Father love", who created us, is known to us and seeks us out. How did we miss it, when creation "sings" his glory? He takes our shame, gives us a name and home, a place where we belong. God redeems.

Chris Rice – Smell The Color 9 Lyrics 17 years ago
I feel like this song applies directly to my life as well. Friends tell me awesome stories they have of healings and visions, or promises God has given them for their life. God works in people's lives differently, because people are different and have their own unique characteristics and stories.
Then I learn quickly and have lots of random gifts and talents, but it's not these that improve my standing with God, our relationship is deeper and more personal for those things to hold any significance.

Chris Rice – Lemonade Lyrics 17 years ago
I like this song. My favorite part might be the bridge: "While God above
Stirs with a spoon..." Just picturing God outside of everything we call life and watching us enjoy him and his creation and his love.

Then the "we're gonna need another straw" line is good too. He doesn't want to keep his joy to himnself.
