I think this song is about wanting to identify with someone and the easiest way to do that is through religion, because then your beliefs are formed for you and there isnt any guessing. Pick a martyr and give your life and beliefs to them because it's so much simpler than wondering what comes after death.

To me this song is about someone i loved that changed me, in good and bad ways. I cant ever forget and remembering is painful. I think back to those days and wonder about the decisions i made and why. If i had done stuff differently could i be happier now. The irony is thinking about it makes me depressed, so what could have made me happier is now tearing me up inside. Yea thats just the way i feel about it tho. Love Mudvayne

To me this some is about the addiction to drugs, and escaping the way the world is now. Trying to make ourselves feel useful because its so hard to see what the point of living is with everything thats handed to us like cable, video games, and pre-packaged meat. Is almost like life was simpler when you had to grown your own shit and work your ass off to survive, rather than being stuck in the feelings of uselessness.

To me this song is trying to explain how throughout history humans have become so civilized with laws and rules and government, taken the world as ours like it belongs to only us, and we are everything. In the end were nothing to the world, it doesnt need us. We just took it over and assumed we were the bee's knees, but were not.

I work at a nursing home and this song gets me so emotional but i love it. I take care of so many old people who are waiting to die and are prisoners in their own bodies, but what pisses me off is some of their families dont come in until they are just hours away from dying. Its like their more worried that seeing someone they love dying will be too much for them to bear, but it's so selfish. Anyways this song rocks and being someone who sucks at expressing feelings Death Blooms puts words to how i feel. Also, I do know that when most getting ready to die its not filled with regret, hate, and angst, most of them die very peacefully, and sometimes smiling.
