I think this song is about his relationship that seems like a cycle, almost. Meaning, they've probably fought a whole lot and said some f.cked up things to each other and done f.cked up stuff, as well. He's probably the one restarting the cycle and trying to fix everything again but, somehow, everything gets messed up again. Instead of restarting the cycle, he wants to completely start over and tell her that if she feels the same, then she needs to "take the fuel," metaphorically, of course, and help him help her help him (ha) to forget the past and let it be and move on. Because they've probably been unloyal to each other and she probably thinks he doesn't truly care about her but he wants her to see how much it really matters to him. I just don't know what this verse means: Maybe I should drive home...far from sober? And maybe I should sleep alone, 'Cause I don't have a rubber? Anyone care to share? |
