| Villagers – Twenty Seven Strangers Lyrics | 15 years ago |

It's "Rooms all get rearranged" not "rules". This song is enchanting, but I wouldn't call it mundane. He's observing the cycle of life, with all the expected and unexpected intertwined. It's almost "strange" to think about... He's surrounded by only strangers, and finds it ironic that we're all connected "You are me/And I am you", yet we go on about our separate lives, each so important to us as we bounce along, separate but together in this world. We create places for ourselves, snap photographs, fall in love, and eventually all these things fade, & others come in to rearrange. There is no script, you can't really say what tomorrow will bring, and the circle of life continues-symbolized by the tree growing at the cemetery. ...I could say a whole lot more but I tried to keep it brief. :) |

| Mumford & Sons – The Cave Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Just want to say that I absolutely love this song. The way it begins pulls me in, lyrics are amazing, and the second half from "so come out of your cave..." is just beautiful. Some days I can't get enough <333 | |
| Josh Ritter – Rattling Locks Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I love the question "Are your eyes as empty as they look?" Followed by the confirmation that they are empty, but How the hell "can your two eyes be as empty as they look?" -Sometimes the coldness in people & the walls that they build are mind boggling. "All along I thought I was giving you my love But you were just stealin' it, now I want it back Every single thing you took" -She's like a black hole who just absorbed his love without him realizing at first he was being sucked dry...(damn vampires) He couldn't have closed the song any better- he'd rather spending the night in hell than work at the heart of a stranger who can't even feel something as human as heartsickness. |

| Kevin Devine – Cotton Crush Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"The bricks get laid, and they get torn up, and laid again, but the bricks always get torn up again." could represent the foundation of relationship after relationship... and, "Then you'll be stoned in some park, just nodding your head and pinching your arms, when a girl walks along. She's humming your song, with your t-shirt on. That's when you're done, Oh, that's when you're done..." He may be pinching his arms to confirm that he's real, and when a girl walks by wearing a shirt with his face on it, it makes him feel even more distant. Also, surreal like amandaaa said."Pinching [his] arms" didn't do any good, and now he's really done... |

| Kevin Devine – Just Stay Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The "just stay just stay" in the first verse references to the feeling that he enjoys when he is on the drugs he bought (possibly coke because of the chopping block). Once the feeling fades he feels even better around the girl. He wants her to stay. Sadly, the feeling he gets around her may last just as short a time as the high he wanted to remain. Especially if she looks at him as hating himself... | |
