The fact that this discussion is dominated by reformists is still more evidence that Against Me! sold the fuck out. So much for 'Baby, I'm an Anarchist!" Now, they're "spineless liberals".
Anyways, a post-colonial interpretation of this song is that the song criticizes white people for being complicit in all this and doin' hardly a damned thing to stop it. The idea that white guilt, protest songs, and pickets signs are enough to end injustices is fuckin' pathetic. So, yeah, I think 'White People for Peace' is a play on the irony of white people (who tend to be the constituents of these genocidal assholes and the indirect beneficiaries of their exploits) singing songs for peace. What ever happened to the Weather Underground and White Panthers? =/

...What? Rise Against is political as fuck. They just speak in general terms, instead of directly referencing specific events. It makes it more relatable but no less political. Emotion is political.
It's pretty much safe to say that they're either Anarchist-affiliated or Anarchst themselves. Listen to this song, and look at the video for 'Give it All". I suppost my troops. They wave black flags. They wear black masks.

...What the?...Most of you don't even know what Anarchism is, so stop pretending. I'm actually an anarchist, and I can assure you that anarchism and nihilism (which you are confusing it with) are not at all the same thing. Anarchists recognize that freedom without socialism is privilege and injustice, but socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality.
Anarchism can loosely defined as stateless socialism or stateless communism. Its end is the maximization of autonomy and equality.
